Social & Religious Celebrations which Bind us Together

Celebrating Life's Milestones - a window into the family lives and religious celebrations that bind us together across the faiths.

Wise Moves have put together an exciting range of workshops which are designed to support and enrich your pupils’ learning and understanding of different cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds.

Designed to be fun and engaging as well as educational, they aim to help young people in their learning and appreciation of different cultural and religious beliefs as well as explore their own beliefs, values and ideas and share them with members of their class. Using Drama and Storytelling, Dance, Music and Art we have a team of professional artists from different cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds who are excellent teachers and good ambassadors for their particular cultural and religious background.

The Benefits

These workshops aim to support and enrich your pupils' learning by helping to:

  • Engage, Educate and Inspire: through dance, music, art or drama, pupils will have the opportunity to work with an artist from a particular cultural and religious background
  • Develop Self Awareness: pupils are exposed to information about their own culture and other cultures which they may not have otherwise contemplated
  • Break Down Cultural Barriers: by challenging preconceptions, prejudices and stereotypes that obstruct our understanding of other people
  • Build Trust: allowing for greater cooperation and a more productive environment
  • Develop Interpersonal Skills: by learning about the influence of culture, i.e. the hidden factors upon people's behaviour, pupils will develop a greater understanding and sensitivity towards people which may have previously been lacking
