Carnival & Lent!
Carnival comes before Lent in the Christian Calendar and these experiential workshops aim to engage your pupils in a joyous celebration of carnival through the exploration of either carnival dance (from South America or the Caribbean), carnival music (drumming and percussion from South America or the Caribbean), carnival mask making or costume making and storytelling. Through practical workshop sessions, pupils will learn about the cultural and religious significance of Carnival and why it is celebrated in many Christian countries and communities around the world. Some Polish Christmas Traditions
On Christmas Eve Polish children look for the first star in the sky because until they have seen it, the family cannot start their big Christmas Eve dinner. On December 6th (St Nicholas's Day), the children clean their shoes and leave them by the door. If they have been good Santa Claus fills them with small presents and sweets. If they have been bad, he fills them with twigs! Back to Top
