Street Dance/Hip Hop, or Street Jazz as it was once called, was by far the most popular workshop style ten years ago and Contemporary Dance was not far behind.    Today, ten years on, the emphasis is more on teachers using the arts as a way to raise awareness of different cultures and religions and Wise Moves is today far more than an organisation that just provides dance workshops.

But dance will always be more than a means to an end, the teaching of dance is still part of the curriculum and the national fascination for dance has never been more evident.

Of all the dance styles Street Dance and Hip Hop and Contemporary have always been and will probably be the most popular styles, for those teachers for whom dance for the sake of it is all. The Street Dance workshop remains as valuable a resource as it ever was for teachers  who want their children to have a challenging yet accessible and enjoyable artistic experience which will also help them to develop key skills creative thinking, team working and solving problems.

It is a dance style very much in step with modern youth culture and it is without a shred of doubt the style which boys initially find most accessible.
