The Chinese call a percussion ensemble luogu which means "gongs and drums". The ensemble may range in size from two players to a small group. Percussion ensembles are used in a variety of settings: in theatres, parades, and in folk music groups.
The four major instruments used in Chinese percussion music are the bo (cymbals), the xiaoluo (small gong), the daluo (large gong) and the dagu (large skin-headed drum).
Wise Moves is proud to have on our team one of the few Chinese musicians working in education who imparts knowledge about China's musical heritage and its instruments with great skill and enthusiasm.
