INSET Courses
Asian (Indian Sub-Continent/ Far Eastern) Theatre INSET
Indian Dance INSET
Course Leaders
This course will feature either or both of the two most popular Asian Dance styles Bhangra and Khatak. We use nine of the UK’s most experienced professional dance artists working in education to lead these courses (one for each region). They are each supported by a further artist some of whom also deliver Asian Dance workshops into schools, whilst others have been trained in one of the other dance disciplines (but have exceptional experience in delivery of dance INSET).
Course Objectives
- To experience working with a professional dance artist and the impact this can have on your pupils’ learning of the art form.
- To provide teachers with practical experience of the art form.
- To develop compositional skills.
- To provide movement material.
- And to learn how to re-adapt the material for K/S 2 & 3 and for all ranges of ability.
Course Flexibility
All too often teachers attending dance INSET find that that those who attend with them have different expectations and that in seeking to find a compromise some are not met. By keeping the course numbers small (we will run a course for as little as nine and a maximum of 20) and because we are providing two artists we aim to avoid this problem and ensure that every course member feels that their specific needs have been met.
Course Times
The course will commence at 10.00 a.m. and finish at 3.30 p.m.
Course Venue
The course venue will be advised to applicants when the course is confirmed at which time you will receive an invoice. At that time you will also receive full details of the course and the artists leading it.
Course Suitable For
Subject Leaders, Class Teachers, NQTs, Returners, Supply Teachers, Classroom Assistants
